Overripe
Overripe is a match-3 roguelite. Swap two fruits, the matches cascade and each smashed fruit lands an attack on the monster. JUICE and ZEST stack up, numbers go wild quickly. The monsters defend themselves on the board - they munch, freeze, rot and dodge your fruits.
Between fights you buy relics and one-time-use items. Runs don't take long, maybe 15 mins tops - three acts, nine fights, and every boss does something annoying and different. Normally you'll end up with some random broken build, and it's different each time.
How to play: click on the fruit, then on its neighbor to swap them. Three or more in a row smash and attack the monster.
Runs in the browser, mouse recommended. Desktop version on its way. More enemies, relics, items and encounters will be added later as well.
Fair warning: it's still a prototype, and it's free. I've made several small games this year to see which one people would like better, and this is the first one to be released.
If you play a run, please comment below how far you got and whether you’d play again. Thank you and enjoy!

Really enjoyed my first fight against Inky: a banana match into the weakness bonus turned 30 juice into 90 damage, and seeing the JUICE times ZEST sum fill up is very satisfying. The spoiled melon mechanic is a clever way for the monster to mess with the board. One small suggestion: the weakness tooltip covered part of the board after a match, so having it fade out on its own after a second or two would keep the next swap easier to spot.
Thank you @onomogo! Tooltip feedback noted. I agree it might obscure the view a bit, especially on touch devices. I'll try to add a fix soon.
